Tactile wayfinding system: orientation for people with impaired sight and for blind people

So that people with visual impairments and blind people can also find their way around building complexes, a tactile guidance system or a guidance system for the blind is used at all important contact points inside and outside the building. Contact points are, for example, doors, stairs and signposts.

Advantages at a glance:

  • Usable throughout the building and outdoors

  • Aluminium/stainless steel or plastic

  • To DIN standard
  • Robust and vandal-resistant

  • Long-lasting and easy-care

  • Everything from a single source

Tactile guidance systems at a glance:

  • Tactile overview plans and wall panels

  • Tactile floor guidance systems

  • Tactile handrail signs and handrail films
  • Tactile door signs

  • Tactile pictograms

A well-thought-out wayfinding system for blind people, for barrier-free access
So that blind and visually impaired people can find their way well in buildings, architects and planners include a well-thought-out guidance system for blind people, with accessibility, in their construction drawings from the start.

Accessible signage throughout the building
With today's technology, barrier-free signage throughout the whole building is easily possible – whatever kind of building complex it is.

With a well-thought-out wayfinding system that runs through the whole building, blind and visually impaired people can be warned of steps or stairs, and they can more easily find information and their way around the building.

Besides the concept for a new build, we also offer you the complete conversion, in an existing building, to a tactile wayfinding system or a guidance system for blind people.

Visual and tactile execution
Indispensable for blind and visually impaired people are Braille, raised profile lettering and pictograms. They feel and touch important messages with their fingers, hands, feet and the long cane.

For purely visual perception, luminance contrast is what counts. The greater the contrast, the better the lettering can be recognised. Black-white or light-dark have the strongest contrast values.
