Development in Illustrator® and Corel Draw®
Of course our trained graphic designers work with professional graphics programs such as Adobe Illustrator® and Corel Draw®. When the logo design is finished and you are happy with the result for your business logo, we will provide you with the logo in various file formats.
Common file formats for your company logo: JPG, PDF, EPS, PNG
There are several different file formats. With these formats you can cover pretty much every eventuality, because different uses place different demands on the logo file. We will provide you with a JPG file, a PNG file, a PDF file and an EPS file in each case.
JPG is a common file format that also works excellently for print in particular. It can also be used online.
If you want to use your logo online, a PNG file is also a great fit, because the background is transparent – so, unlike a JPG file, the logo is created without a white background.
You get a PDF file from us with your logo as a vector file. It is suitable for every print job and every production. You’ll very likely be able to view the PDF on your computer, as this is a common file format.
As a rule you won’t be able to open the additional vector file, which we save for you as an EPS, on your computer, because this is a professional graphics file. Advertising agencies and print shops, though, are always glad to receive a professional EPS file.
Copyright: You get an exclusive right of use. Do what you want!
Unfortunately there are always uncertainties about the right to use the logo we developed. You are our customer and can of course do whatever you want with your logo! We are paid only for the logo development and provide you with the finished logo in four different formats. If you have us design your logo, once this project is complete both the logo lettering and the logo graphic belong to you, and you can use the logo we created without any restrictions at all.
You therefore receive the exclusive right of use and can use the logo
• use with no limit on time
• use with no geographical limit
• use without limitation in subject matter/content
Is a logo relaunch due?
At some point even the most beautiful logo goes out of fashion, because, for example, typefaces have moved on in recent years or there are many new possibilities in graphic design. We also know our way around property branding and rebranding and are happy to be at your disposal.
What matters for print: the resolution of the logo
If you want to send the logo on because you want something printed elsewhere, always pay attention to the resolution. For print we of course need – if already available – the respective house font and the logo as a vector file or as a pixel-based file (such as .jpg or .tiff) in a print-ready resolution of 300 dpi. If something is to be printed, good quality is definitely necessary, because otherwise the logo could be printed pixelated. And that would not really look nice…
Unfortunately we’ve often found that files sent online, especially ones we’ve received from customers, don’t have the right resolution. Of course we always point that out to you, and we would never start a print without checking the logo first!
Legal aspects of logo and name finding – we accept no liability
We are very happy to create your logo for you and, if needed, also support you with ideas for finding your name. As a creative agency, however, we cannot provide legal assistance. So we can neither check whether the company name you want is legally permitted as a single word or as a word combination, nor can we check whether the name is free. We therefore recommend in any case that you also instruct a legal adviser. That can, for example, be a lawyer who specialises in trademark law.
If you want to do some research yourself beforehand, we also recommend a targeted domain search alongside searching in the search engines. The research tool for that is Denic, where all domains that end in .de are registered. The German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), for example, will also give you further information.
