“Because of the shortage of managers, it was clear from the start of the company that we would train and also support the further development of our own staff,” explains Julien Lorch, managing director of BlaueErdbeere.
Only last year Josy successfully completed her own apprenticeship as a digital and print media designer. Since then she has looked after the production of advertising materials and the installations. Even then it was clear to her, that's not enough for me, I want to train people myself. No sooner said than done: today, only half a year later, Josy holds her trainer certificate in her hands and things can get started. But the real reason Josy took her trainer certificate is a completely different one. She herself had to experience at first hand how hard it is to find an apprenticeship; she had to move a full 250 km away for her own apprenticeship. On that day she swore that she would also make her contribution to creating more apprenticeship places.
And what can we say, she kept her word and took on quite a lot: „I want to stand by the apprentices and help them as well as I can to settle in with us at the company, learn new things, develop self-confidence, stand up for themselves and of course pass vocational school and the exam, and all of that with a lot of fun and joy in the work. BlaueErdbeere has always supported me on my own path, and I am very grateful for that“, emphasises Josy.
Her advice: “If you’d also like to get a trainer certificate, ask the IHK, talk to colleagues or friends who have also done a trainer certificate, and don’t be afraid, the IHK prep courses are a great help for exam preparation“, stresses Josy.
Lorena also started her apprenticeship at BlaueErdbeere in 2018. As a qualified management assistant for office management, she has since been responsible for all relevant personnel matters and reception. In other words: she is the good soul of the company, she holds all the threads, she has an open ear for everyone, and she always knows a solution when advice is needed. “I was thrilled when, so soon after my apprenticeship, management also offered me the chance to take the trainer’s certificate myself and train people for BlaueErdbeere”, Lorena affirms. Her advice: „If you like working with people and enjoy teaching others something, then don’t hang about, get your trainer certificate. Through the trainer certificate I’ve gained such solid specialist knowledge myself, and that too is a great feeling“, reports Lorena, visibly proud.
