BlaueErdbeere rolls out the red carpet: Education Minister Anja Karliczek visiting the Krefeld showroom

Krefeld, 17.08.2021 - Since the company began, BlaueErdbeere has focused on the importance of training young people. The news that BlaueErdbeere – signage was chosen as the place for an open exchange between the IHK and Education Minister Anja Karliczek (CDU) honoured us greatly. The exchange was about what companies, the IHK and the apprentices have to say on dual vocational training.

Digitalisation demands greater flexibility from the workforce
Dual vocational training is meant to give graduates a stronger connection to practice and to supply companies with the skilled workers they need. They should have not only profound theoretical specialist knowledge, but also the necessary practical toolkit to work successfully in their chosen occupation. With the current pressure of climate change and digitalisation, greater flexibility and adaptability from employees matters more and more.

Dual vocational training creates real prospects
The Covid pandemic has left its mark on training. The apprenticeship market is shrinking and the shortage of skilled workers is growing, so the importance of dual vocational training is becoming ever more urgent. Mr Steinmetz, managing director of the IHK, puts it in a nutshell: “Dual vocational training creates real prospects for the future for apprentices and companies alike.” In future, the interlocking of university study and vocational training may and must get better. In this connection, Member of the Bundestag Kerstin Radomski (CDU) praised Blaue Erdbeere, which continues to train even during the current crisis, because the majority of apprentices are trained by small and medium-sized companies. BlaueErdbeere is a great example of how the skilled trades can be united with creativity at the highest level.

BlaueErdbeere – passes on the fun of creative craft
At the end of the event BlaueErdbeere led its guests through the company and showed in detail how training is lived, especially in the technical field. Education Minister Karliczek praised BlaueErdbeere as a young, creative start-up in which, already during training, enjoyment of the creative craft is passed on and a family-like togetherness comes first.
Dual vocational training will also make Germany more competitive in education and will make graduates more flexible and, at the same time, more employable. And one thing is clear: BlaueErdbeere will continue to do its part in enabling young people to find their way into working life. We are already looking forward to the new opportunities that will arise for us through dual vocational training in all sorts of fields.

We look back on an exciting dialogue and thank our great guests most heartily: Anja Karliczek – CDU Federal Minister of Education, Mr Ansgar Heveling – CDU Member of the Bundestag, Kerstin Radomski – CDU Member of the Bundestag, Jürgen Steinmetz – Managing Director of the IHK, and Ms Perner – responsible for innovation and education at the IHK.
