Montabaur station: with BlaueErdbeere to the design concept

The idea behind it: in the coming years, people’s mobility will keep on rising. To take account of the mobility transition, stations will in future be far more than places to pass through. A creative design concept is to make it nicer to spend time there and, along the way, make the place easy to recognise.

In the concept for Montabaur station, symbols became a graceful form of façade design. BlaueErdbeere supplied DB Station&Service AG with seven different symbols as two-part solid-relief letters, 50 mm deep, in RAL 6020 chrome oxide green, silk-matt painted. Mounted directly on the façade, the new symbols skilfully combine design, wall art and orientation at once.
