CHIO Aachen takes a run-up and jumps into uncharted digital signage territory!
Always a horse’s length ahead and on the move digitally, CHIO Aachen presents itself, as innovative as ever, with a large-format 86-inch digital signage totem. CHIO Aachen truly has more than enough to communicate. Every year, more than 350,000 lovers of equestrian sport visit CHIO Aachen. And now the video highlights of the event, information on ticket sales, the CHIO Aachen magazine, the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS and the upcoming dates can be created on a schedule via digital signage cloud software and played out on site, up to date for the day. After an initial training session, the marketing team takes over content creation and playout entirely on its own.
"For me, it's nice to see how quickly a marketing department takes a new medium to heart and, in no time, creates great information and advertising content that represents real added value for staff as well as visitors," explains Fabienne Horch, Head of Digital Signage, BlaueErdbeere Werbetechnik. "For the big opening celebration on 27 June 2023 we wish them lots of success and are very glad to be able to support CHIO Aachen digitally in this form, to some extent," says Niki Küch, Managing Director of BlaueErdbeere Werbetechnik.
Innovation needs tradition. CHIO Aachen has both: a history that goes back to 1898, and state-of-the-art developments. The faces behind the tournament: Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. is the organiser of CHIO Aachen, and Aachener Reitturnier GmbH (ART) has been responsible for the marketing of CHIO Aachen since 1975. Together, the two stage an event of superlatives. Aachen is the capital of the horse world. Many comparisons have already been called on to make clear the standing of CHIO Aachen, the official tournament of the Federal Republic of Germany: the Wimbledon of equestrian sport, or indeed the Mecca of equestrian sport. The most prestigious prizes in the world are contested here in the most extraordinary stadiums. Whether the ROLEX Grand Prix of the show jumpers in front of 40,000 spectators or the Deutsche Bank Prize in dressage in the spectacular Deutsche Bank Stadion – starting in Aachen is both a thrill and a challenge. Athletes call it “riding with goosebumps” when they immerse themselves in this atmosphere and experience these special moments that simply can only happen here.
“After the visit to BlaueErdbeere’s showroom and the insights gained into how uncomplicated digital visitor information and advertising can be, we immediately started a four-week test phase and were able to gather first experience with the system and with playing content on it. After the successful trial, we are now going into continuous operation with a large-format totem. Alongside playing out videos and image files, we are especially glad also to be able to inform our staff on a schedule, at the start of each working day, about important company news and updates”, says Philip Erbers, board member of Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. (ALRV).
