Digital Lunchtime: five canteens digitised

Deutsche Post DHL Group in Bonn, Vorwerk in Wuppertal, Polizeipräsidium Südosthessen in Offenbach, the Städtische Klinikum Dresden and AOK NordWest from Dortmund – commissioned by Primus Service GmbH, BlaueErdbeere digitised five canteens of well-known companies in 2021.

Good digital signage projects are adaptable and yet entirely individual. With viewneo as a software partner alongside, BlaueErdbeere was able to set up an individual interface to the food-service software in use.

The implementation:

Every head chef creates their recipes, dishes and menu plans in the cloud as usual. The newly created viewneo interface automatically retrieves location-specific dish displays, with images, descriptions and prices, into a digital signage template. The dishes are displayed on a schedule on the newly installed displays at the various counters.

The clever bit: the management of each operation decides individually which information is played out. So the displays on the Deutsche Post DHL Group Campus show guests, for example, the climate score of the respective dish as well, and thus sensitise guests to sustainable eating. Because of the highly international character of the site, the menu and dish descriptions are shown alternately in German and English. Allergens and additives are clearly visible too. A particular highlight is the two large-format 86-inch totems, which at two junctions in the Post Tower present a complete overview of all dishes that is current for the day and advertise special offers or promotions.
