How a digital totem can encourage the joy of reading.
Digital book worlds: Often it is precisely the individual, digital projects in the
local region that fascinate us. In collaboration with Librileo - the Berlin
Educational programme for families - BlaueErdbeere supplied the City of Krefeld with a 32“
large, digital fabric stele for the play corner. The clever bit: the best read-aloud voices from
Theatre, film, television, music, politics and audio drama, such as Uwe Ochsenknecht, Yvonne Catterfeld or Gregor Gysi, read enchanting stories aloud and spark a love of reading in the very youngest early on.
The Youth Welfare and Employment Promotion department leads by
example and shows how a children’s waiting area can become a digital reading corner with little financial outlay. Here the celebs themselves read exciting children’s books aloud and make it possible to dive into the fantastic world of books.
Thanks to the content management system supplied by BlaueErdbeere, playout can also be controlled by week and time of day. The city can replace the one-hour content loop, made up of several read-aloud videos, on its own every month with new videos.
“We are delighted, as part of the spatial redesign of the
waiting area, to now also be able to offer the very youngest a digital world of books. Early reading promotion is a task for society as a whole, which we too want to take on. We are glad to make a small contribution with the digital reading corner”, emphasises Birgit Luttkus, head of the department for youth welfare and employment promotion.
